Oh Xennie Bean, our Austrian Queen... what can I say about our little ray of sunshine? In spite of a two-day international flight experience, she came out of her crate at the airport like nothing had happened... friendly, brave, and opinionated. She brings us so much joy; we are so lucky to have her in our lives.
"Xen" is our latest addition, all the way from Austria! We have been fans of her sire, Xandro, for a long time, and are SO excited to bring the first Xandro kid to America. Xandro is a Champion in five countries, and also trains in dog sports like agility and herding. Lia is a beautiful bitch that competes in conformation and is in training for dog sports.
Huge thanks to Xen's breeders, Daniela Rindler and Wilfried Kogler (Speedborders) for entrusting such a gorgeous puppy to a stranger halfway across the world, we have big plans for this girl :). Thanks also to Helene Wohak, Xandro's owner... you will have our everlasting gratitude for helping all of this to happen!
Xen has one of the best, most solid temperaments I've ever seen in a Border Collie. She is bright, funny, and easy to train and live with. She has a beautiful head, an exceptional front, solid topline, and amazing movement. I am so excited to see what she can do in the future. Plans for Xen include conformation, herding, agility, and disc.
Sports:
Xen earned her Novice Trick Dog (TKN) title at only nine months of age! Xen breezed through her Intermediate and Advanced Trick Dog titles on 11/28/17 at fourteen months old. She earned both her CGC and Advanced CGC titles easily. What a bright, fun girl she is.
Xen has recently started herding training. She's still very new, but is showing good biddability, natural balance, and a tendency for square flanks already. She also shows great promise for driving. We hope to trial her in the future. Photos and videos here.
Xen earned her very first agility title on 9/8/18, in NADAC Hoopers. We are looking forward to her debut in AKC agility in 2019. See her agility videos here.
She and I have also recently started competing in Nosework. She has titles in both AKC Scentwork and UKC Nosework, and won High in Trial at her first AKC trial! She is currently competing at the Advanced level in AKC.
Conformation:
Xen earned her first conformation CH points, and her first majors (4 points!) at her very first shows on 9/30- 10/1/2017 at the Richland Kennel Club dog shows. Xen finished her AKC championship on 4/15/18 undefeated in the classes in only three shows, with three majors, two BOB wins (one over specials), a NOHS G2, and a regular G4 placement, at just eighteen months old.
She then went on to finish her Grand Championship in two weekends, with quite a few BOB wins, major wins, and another group placement! We are so proud of her! She was ranked in the Top Twenty Border Collies for 2018.
Xen also has her Versatility award from BCSA!
