Welcome!
Hello and welcome to Element Border Collies' home on the web! We are based in Kennewick, WA, and work/trial our Border Collies in agility, herding, canine freestyle, and rally obedience. We are not breeders at this time. This website exists primarily to "show off" our dogs' accomplishments as well as a way to organize pedigree information.
Our dogs excel in a variety of venues, from stockwork to agility, rally obedience to canine freestyle. We take great pleasure in owning dogs that are able to be willing partners in a variety of activities. A well-bred Border Collie should be able to do anything asked of it, but we do not believe in breeding for "versatility" specifically, as we feel this approach results in a dilution of breed type and working ability/temperament. Our dogs must show that they are able to mentally and physically withstand sustained hard physical and mental work with strength, soundness, good character and biddability before even being considered for breeding.
Temperament and working ability are very important to us. We understand how difficult it is to maintain a high standard of working ability in even the top working kennels, and with that in mind, we always aim to improve on the dogs we have. We are very thankful to those that have helped us get a great start in the breed. We couldn't have done it without you!
We are current members of the United States Border Collie Handler's Association (USBCHA), the Border Collie Society of America (BCSA), the Columbia Basin Dog Training Club, and the Idaho Capital City Kennel Club.
On the different pages of this site, you will find information about each of our dogs, photos and pedigree information about the dogs you'll find in their pedigrees, information about available dogs, and links to websites of interest.
Element fully supports rescue and helps out with transportation and fostering on occasion.
Thanks for your interest in our Border Collies!
