Element K9 Dog Training
Serving the Tri-Cities, Washington Area
I have been training and competing with dogs for the majority of my life. When I was 5 years old, I drafted out a presentation for my parents, asking them for a dog. Luckily it worked, and I got my first puppy several months later.
Since that time, I have owned, trained, and later, competed with dogs on a constant basis. I have trained and competed in a variety of venues, including conformation, obedience, rally, agility, tricks, herding, and canine freestyle. I am currently competing in the Masters/Elite level of agility (AKC and NADAC) with my girls, Cedar and Ember. In addition to earning multiple performance titles on several different dogs, I have competed extensively in conformation, finishing over twenty AKC Champions in various breeds, campaigned several dogs to Top 10 and Top 20 status, and earned multiple specialty and group wins.
During my time in the dog fancy, I have greatly enjoyed learning about the many different activities and sports you can do with dogs, and there are still many more things I would like to try. I am constantly researching new training methods to expand my knowledge base as well. There is no feeling in the world to me like the one I get when I run one of my dogs in agility, knowing that the connection we have on the course has been built over the dog’s entire lifetime with me. I love that feeling of becoming a true team with my dog and I want to share that joy with others. Nothing gives me more pleasure than to help people become better, more savvy dog trainers, watching the “light bulb” turn on when they first see the progress they are making or master a new technique.
I offer private and semi-private instruction in the following areas:
I teach both private and group classes based out of 4 Paws Dogworks in Richland, WA.
